Les transports du futur / Future transportation

During many years, transportation means seemed to evolve only slowly through an incremental progress.: cars driven by internal combustion engines, planes by turboreactors, ships equiped with diesel groups. Now many new ideas seem to emerge and evolve rapidly. Three main groups of innovations can be considered:
- Fully automated vehicles: cars, ships, but also planes, which will not need any pilot (PPlane concept).
- New propulsion systems: hydrid propulsion for cars, ships but also for planes, making possible during the descent to recover a part of the energy required for the ascent, hydrogen as a fuel for casr, but also and probably more promising for ships and planes, electric vehicles, with inductive transmission during motion, along "an electric road".
- New sustentation systems and ultra-high speed transportation: vactrain transported at 2500 mph in a vacuum tunnel, hypersonic planes, morphic surfaces, tropospheric solar zeppelin, suspended vehicles (cable or rail) in urban areas, adjustable slidewalks.
All ideas will not succeed. Still, this come back of imagination and talent demonstrates that we are entering into a world of intelligence and creation, which will open a whole array of very diverse options, from new ways of walking to hypersonic transportation
